revs counter stopped working any ideas.

hi guys. i changed my thermostate today on my 1995 3.9v8 discovery. and to get at it i lifted the distributor cap out the way. after doing this and replaceing the new thermostate i have now noticed my revs counter is inoperative. what could i have done or weres the connections. any help please

Counter should be connected to alternator iirc. Check cables are still on tight
