Reversing Lights are tempermental

I have a 2004 gaylander and ive just realised that my reverse lights are very tempermental and only occasionally come on when i wobble the gear knob. Has anyone else had this problem and know of an easy fix?

Sounds like wear in mechanism or the reverse light switch itself is loose / faulty,probably one of the latter.

go for moody switch. track it down, then link it out should come on all the time, irrespective of what you do with gear stick

if its a manual gearbox its easy. . . .two types er gearbox but both can be sorted , find the switch disconnect the connection on switch , put into reverse and check switch in ohms or lamp test [if u/s replace ] if good check fuse then associated wiring , auto is another story , oh un best of luck earthling

its a manual gearbox, i assume the switch will be with the gear linkage? ill have to get underneath and have a look or pop into landrover and see if they can help without an extortionate price
