reversing camera gone blank

Nothing wrong with reversing cameras. Using technology to make a process easier is hardly rare on cars. Do the camera naysayers also say the same about power steering or assisted brakes?

All of the above are fine on one condition: that the person who uses them can still manage to drive/park/stop without them. Sadly it seems that more and more cannot.

Mine was a dead camera. If it's the original 2005 camera the plastic casing is bonded together and can leak, if you've checked the left hand boot compartment for moisture/water ingress and it's clear it's likely you have a dead camera.

If you do the 753 hack you should be able to test the video inputs (probably here on the forum if you don't know it already)

When mine went I bought the 2010 camera with the yellow lines for "framing" on, be aware you will need to drill the hole about 7 EDIT: cm not inches. to the right to get it to line up, you'll also need the updated loom and a new holder. I think I got all the bits for about £150 though this was 18 months ago so they may have increased?

Another thing to be aware of is the small coaxial cable providing the video feed can easily get damaged. If this happens and you want to do a proper job you'll need some Fakra connectors and some 50Ohm braided coax, and crimpl pliers etc.

EDIT: That's gone, there are just some informational posts.

Hopefully this is of some use.
