reverse gear problem

Can anyone tell me why my reverse gear doesnt seem to want to stay in and keeps popping out while reversing, its 1987 90, any help welcomed cheers kris

I think over time the teeth wear and it pops out of reverse.

It's gonna need a rebuild :-(

Recently had this issue myself and had to replace the gearbox. I believe it's the reverse idler and possible lay shaft need replacing.
