I removed my back door skin as the paint was bubbling and found lots of white powder under it.

Can I clean it up and fill any surface pitting and reuse it or is it basically infected with rot now? I am going to put a barrier to stop the dissimilar metal reaction.

You can but as always there is always the risk of cracking the paint when folding the skin back over the frame and so it all starts over again, I wouldn't bother if I'm honest, I'd probably go down the road of using 0.9mm sheet steel and spotting that to the frame and then getting it hot dipped, T-washed, high build primer, flatted, primed, flatted and then a top coat to make it look fabulous.

Deadenders have the luxury of lots of big flat slabs and the rear door is especially a good candidate for the procedure above ;)
