Hello guys.
I am wondering if a nice soul out there, could perhaps unsrew his or her aerial and take a photo for me?

My car had an awfull bee sting type aerial, which was rusted to bits. Got rid of that one, and bought one of these on Ebay.

However, it does not fit at all. So I'm wondering if I got the wrong antenna or if the car has some sort of aftermarket earial..

Here you go. Looks like someone has done a conversion or the stud of the old ariel is stuck in. A pair of pliers might help in this case.

Thank you very much! Very nice of you. :) It confirmed my suspicions, someone have done something to my aerial.. It keeps fighting me this car, why can't anything ever be easy? ;)

Doddle to change the lot, just take out the roof light and it just unscrews. Payed about £15 for the genuine part from LR dealer on line. You can then keep the new part for when the new one breaks off, like mine did in the wind.

My local car shop sell universal aerial whips that would fit straight onto what is in your photo and also come with a little packet of assorted studs, double ended studs, male-female adaptors etc in case the threads are different or whatever. Dead easy.

i done the same and replaced the base and aerial with an oem one

but has anyone found that there radio reception is crap

dont know if u can get a booster etc, got a sony cd player but the reception on most channels are really bad

the normal ones like bbc are ok but other weaker radio channels seems very poor

thks guys

gary

Looks like the whole thing has been replaced as the 2 photos of the bases are nothing like each other

Quick update, ended up buying a cheap uni whip, works well.
The LR one did fit my MG, which had a bee sting aswell, but now it looks like I'm seraching for ET. A shorter one is one the list. :)
