Following on from a recent head gasket failure thread, I had similar problems resulting in a blown radiator and a 110 abandoned 100 miles from home.
Have now had head tested and found to be cracked. So.... have obtained new (re-manufactured) head, pressure tested and guaranteed. Also EGR removal kit, head gasket, steel dowels, gasket overhaul set, injector washers and seals, some new hoses, new radiator and head bolts. Anything I have missed? Going back to try and breath some life back in to this motor this week. Keep watching, may need help along the way! :D

Ok, Landy alive and happy again! Fairly straightforward with a couple of wobblies thrown in. Ordered quite a few bits and pieces from one supplier all for TD5 but for some reason sent me dowels for 200tdi cylinder head, so lost a day waiting for replacements. Radiator was confusing, old one had two small bore pipe outlets for the fuel cooler, but the new one only had one? Was assured that this was a dummy orrifice in the old one and just to plug the spare hose with a bolt and circlip.
Apart from that, made sure battery was 100% charged, have learnt that lesson before, purged the fuel line a couple of times, and lo & behold it started after about 20 seconds cranking. subsequently starting on the button. Happy days! :D:D
PS Total cost about £750 for parts.

Where abouts did you get your new head from? I'm looking at turners but are £1095 +VAT

The AMC ones that turners supply are a thing of beauty, the seats for the injectors are MUCH thicker than the stock seats so hopefully far less likely to crack.
