Disco 2 Replacing front ball joints.

Whats the score when changing these? I have a little bit of vertical play in these. They look like they need to be pressed out and in. Has anyone any advice?

can be done in situ using something like this

not the easiest job getting the old ones out, its a bit easier pressing the new ones in, use genuine Lemforder replacements as its not a job you will want to do again

Previous posts on this topic, suggested that some of the cheaper ball joint press tools could distort / bend.
the consensus was that the kennedy unit was made of better quality steel and worth the difference, have not used one myself, but when I do I will get this one, funnily enough it is cheaper on fleabay than direct from Cromwell tools.

Vertical play means bottom joint is worn. See RAVE for instructions.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will get one of the tools mentioned and see how it goes. Already checked Rave Wammers and that's where I seen LR tool. Just have to get in about it and see what happens. Cheers again.
