I am in the process of replacing and extending the rear axle breather.

Can anyone give me some advice of where the best place to run the breather pipe into the engine bay is ?

Also I have read on here that it is easier to replace the gearbox/transfer box breathers when the centre console is removed.

How difficult a job is it ?
any special tools needed ?
how long roughly does it take ?

Thanks for any help.

i replaced both axels both gear box & the tank breather in 1 hour with the disco on a lift at a local friendly mot place i know. One of the boxes was a real pain and would have been a lot easier from above.

I think i run them up the inside of the nearside wheel arch to the top of the engine bay and then turned the pipes over so they point down for about 6", this should stop any water getting in if the bonnet goes under before i get a snorkel fitted.
