Hi Guys
Been servicing my P38 today

fuel , oil, oil filter, air filter no dramas

Even greased all nipple on props etc
Sparyed waste oil on all the metalwork underneath as well

But having looked all over, other than ripped the dash out
Be B##ge#ed if i can find the cabin filter:confused:

Looked on RAVE cant find it there either, so do i need to thump the bloke in the motor factors or can one of you guys help me out.

Any other stuff i need to do

Cabin filter. Do you mean cabin air inlet pollen filters? They are under bonnet on top of scuttle panel below two plastic covers. One either side.
 
Reckon that would be it.
Bloke at the motor factors called it a cabin filter

he only sold me one, i guess i need two

maybe pop out to the garage and have a quick look in a minute or two
 
Nope i had asked for all the other service bits.

then he suggested the cabin / pollen filter
only gave me 1, spent an hour in the workshop looking for the location of it:doh:

cold dark n wet here, so havent been out to the garage to check:(

just gearbox n axles fluids to change, may post on that in its own thread
 
open bonnet two rectangular plastic plates with screws below windscreen on my ex p38
 
No no - dont touch wipers, much easier than that.

Lift bonnet.
Look in corner at each side, just inside the hinge and behind rubber seal.

Its the long thin (approx 8" by 2") plastic cover with screw either side.

Remove both screws and lift cover away.

Lift out filter from slot below, taking note of which way it comes out.

New one simply slides in (if right way round).

It's really easy...
 
you don't need to take wipers off, the small 7” x 1” plastic covers with 2 x screws,, very easy, careful the debris does not fall back inside though!

many thanks for the help , have been out and done it ( got bored with the film )

But suprise suprise it only had 1 in the drivers side.

There def looks like there should be 2 so off to the factors tomorrow.

Dunno why i am worried at the moment wont need the ac with this weather & the belt is missing as well.

You might not need aircon, although it's great for demisting, but you will need heated air to the screen etc. and it all comes through your pollen filters:D
