Replacement fuel tank 300tdi 90

I've just had my MOT and failed

The only big thing is a leaking fuel tank. So I know I need to order one of those but I was wondering what other bits and pieces I'm going to need to do the job. It just would be really nice to have everything at the start of the job for a change.

Tank, new gaskets for around sender and return pipe. That's about it. I also needed a new filler pipe, but don't think everyone will.

No probs. It is an absolute bugger to get out!

Oh, fuel pick up pipe gasket too.

You can reuse them (and I did with the pick up pipe seal), but for what they cost it is better to get new ones.

Took me hours to get mine out.

I got the mechanic who lives next door to help with mine. Judging by the dents in the new tank he had problems getting that back in too!

I had trouble with my replacement fouling on the underside of the seatbox where it runs under the door. I smeared a bit of grease on that part and it went straight in. Bit of a knack to it
