Long story short.
I was trying to remove the gear knob on my Freelander 1 TD4 S Automatic. Unfortunately, I twisted it off instead of pulling it up and the plastic bit inside the stick has snapped (the plastic is the bit which pulls up when you press the button to change gear from park to drive)
I have managed to use 2 screw drivers to lever the plastic bit up and so can still drive it but now obviously can shift easily into park with no button pressing.
After doing a recky, it looks like I may have to change the entire unit code ucB000070, and cannot simply change the plastic inside the stick.
Does anyone know what I am talking about, and has anyone done it?
Thanks in advance
Stewart
