My question is, can I remove the double top on my roof without having the nuts drop onto the back side of my soft bonnet on the interior of my truck? The flat head screw tops are accessible from the top with washers and rubber washers but are the nuts "fixed" to the inside main roof? or do I have to remove the soft "bonnet"?

Thanks

if your talking about the safari roof panel then i think i can help as i have just done mine

the bolts on mine screw into a square plate that is riveted to the underside of the main roof frame

the trouble is that without any of the railes the roof panel isnt fixed down so is gonna rattle when you go down the road

what i have done is remove it all, repair and seal the main roof the bolt back in place the railes but not the safari roof sheet this way the roof is held down and i have something to set up a roof rack on in the future if i want to

but this is on a milltery ambulance not a standard landy
