Hi,

My waterpump went the other day, so I ordered a new one plus a new P gasket, I read the threads on replacing the waterpump and they all say that the belt tension will hold the pulleys whilst undoing the bolts.

I've tried this but the pulleys just spin ?

Can anyone suggest the best way to do this ?

Update:

Managed to get the waterpump pulley and the belt tensioner off, but the power steering pulley bolts wont budge and are starting to round off.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it's a 300tdi, the ps pulley has to come off to get at the water pump bottom bolt.
OK, if you say so - I'm not familiar with 300's.

The only other thing I can suggest is to get a big pair of stillsons on the pulley, which will damage it, then buy a new pulley (shouldn't be too expensive).
