How?

I'm in the process of stripping the 110 down and need to get one, if not both front wings off, but can't see for the life of me how they come off!

Have you considered a workshop manual, saves having to post every time you come across a problem?

Wings can be removed whole or as separate parts, normally you remove them as single items c/w lights etc unless you are just wanting to remove the outer skin. Undo wiring, heater & air intakes, fuel filter, header-tank etc (exact list depends on model), remove wheel-spat, stays and then undo fixings to front panel / chassis & bulkhead.

Yes, I have a manual thanks, however wing removal isn't covered, which is why I asked - is that a problem?
The plan is to remove as whole units and having studied the helpful links Ivancrx put up, this element is now underway.

Hi JohnM70

I have just removed mine a couple of weekends ago, and although some bolts are hard to get to its quite straight forward.

1. Make sure all components such as water bottle and fuel filter are removed from the wing.
2. Remove the front grill as his will expose 4 bolts (two each side of the grill) that you need to remove.
3. I removed the rubber wheel arches to get better access.
4. Inside the wheel arch are two bolts each side to remove.
5. Then there are 5 bolts connecting the wing to the bulkhead. These are difficult to get to, mine were coated in an inch or two of mud but after digging them out and using a long extension for the socket they came out. I had to remove the air intake grill on the driver's side of my 300tdi to reach a couple of the bolts.
6. Disconnect to wiring plugs connected to the lights and then remove the wire that run down the inside top lip of the wing.
7. You should now be able to lift the complete wing assembly up and off.

Hope this helps.
