Hi all....Just wondering how easy or difficult it is to remove the bump strips on my E reg classic. I am in the process of rubbing down for paint and the bump strips are in the way for flatting the curved edge pressings behind them. One of the strips is bending away from the panel on one end and it looks like that there is only some sort of double sided sticky tape holding it on. Am I correct in assuming this?.....

Thanks everyone for any help.

Got mine off with a thin bladed filling knife, little bit at a time.
Wont really matter scratching the paint underneath if your going to prep and respray anyway. Take the old adhesive tape off the rubbers with sand paper and maybe some acetone, but be careful with that.

Double sided adhesive trim tape.
Use a length of fishing line - braid is best - or single core electrical wire in a sawing motion. Couple of bits of wood to act as handles on the ends worth considering.
Remove any foam.
Remove adhesive residue with 'Tar and Glue Remover' or Clutch & Brake cleaner which works just as well. I buy the latter in 5 litre cans. Use with a rag or paper towels, paper towels are better at cleaning up. To date I haven't had a paint issue with C&B cleaner on cars or caravans.
They do bend but can be straightened up by bending the opposite way.
