removing a P38 radiator

Ok so how the hell do you do it ? I've removed the cowling clips and it is in one piece not 2, removed hoses and it slides up nicely until it gets caught on the fan, do I really have to remove the fan too ? It's a 2.5 DSE and loves to give me grief, everyday it's getting more and more like the Millenium Falcon, help me Obe Forum Guys.. Your my only hope ......:confused:

You need a viscous spanner and its an anticlockwise thread you also need a pry bar to hold the water pump pulley bolts to prevent it from turning while you are undoing the fan nut.
Out with fan and cowling as one, after you have drained the rad and removing the two top hoses and the power steering res/tank bracket and intercooler pipe to head .
All that's left are the two rad brackets bolts and oil cooler pipes ( non auto box)
 
Thanks a lot chaps, getting the fan back on was a bit fiddley but done, now all I have to do is find the knack of getting the U shaped little hose off/on at the back of block as when I overheated there was hissing and coolant leak from that part of engine bay and I'm praying it is this hose and not the head gasket- Great Forum, I've been using it for a couple of years just by looking up old posts, cannot thank you enough- Jackie Jackson- Lucky Soul Radio
