Remove 2008 ignition switch

Hello, i am having the dreaded steering column problem. What i want to do now is to make the car knob start. I want to simulate as much possible from the ignition switch. For that i need to get the ignition switch out. It is located in the upper part of the dash next to the radio. Can anyone guide me to getting the switch out. I will accept that the steering wheel does not lock anymore. Help will be appreciated

I'll be surprised if anyone will help you do something that disables the steering lock as there are possible insurance implications.

Where i live insurance is not an issue. And i know that i'm not the bravest in the class. Just want to get the ignition switch out to measure on it. I can take the complete dash out but if there is an easier way to get the switch out i'd prefer that. I will put the system that i put in as a diy. Can not imagine that people did not start a law suit against land rover for making such an miserable component and letting you buy a complete steering column when it fails. In the law suite they should be sentenced to give a free replacement column. In a blink of an eye the lock component would be available

I succeeded in removing the ignition switch and putting a knob start. It seems as works as if it came from the factory with the knob start. I do not have the steering lock anymore but that is not a problem for me. If there is interest in how i did it i will gladly share and even write up a DIY. It is a very straight forward job but you need to get the complete dashboard open.
