remote problems

Good evening! At my Freelander 2001, GS 5 door, can not activate the alarm, that can not activate the central (alarm) from remote. If you use keys, centralized work and believe that working alarm at a minimum (I turned the key centralized, with an open window, and when I tried to "open the door from the inside", when I opened the door, was activated alarm, but when I put his hand on glass, volumetric sensor has detected the presence of hand). I changed batteries in remote, I checked the sensor plug connection, I checked this receptor (the board). Forward any suggestions! Thank you!

Freelander 1:

When you turn the key once, it locks the doors. You can still open them from inside. The alarm is only activated on the doors and bonnet.

When you turn the key twice, it locks the doors and super locks the doors. You can’t open doors from inside. The alarm is only activated on the doors and bonnet.

When using the remote to lock it, it locks the doors, super locks the doors, and activates the volumetrics. The volumetrics is the movement sensing inside.

Volumetric movement sensing will activate when using the remote on a 5 door. It will only activate on 3 door if the roof is fitted correctly. There’s a switch which senses the roof is fitted correctly. If this switch reports the roof is open or the switch is faulty, then the remote won’t activate volumetrics.

On a 5 door the volumetrics sensor is mounted behind the sunroof, behind the roof material. Can’t remember where is it on a 3 door. Volumetric sensor is powered from the car battery under the bonnet.

Ok! Thanks for the reply. Freeland is the 5-door. I managed to reach the sensor (removing the lamp cover lamp - need a very thin hand, and checked if it is connected to the circuit response = yes). The problem comes from the remote: I changed the batteries (thinking they are downloaded), rezultatatul is still 0. I tried a resynchronization, result 0. I know it is only active sensor volume by closing the remote machine. wait and other Parry (possibly steps to resynchronize - maybe I do not correct).

When changing the battery in the remote to have to press either lock or unlock on the remote 5 times to resynchronise. You will know when the remote has synchronised as the locks will either lock or unlock, depending on which remote bottom your pressing.

If you change the remote battery and resynchronise, this won’t affect the volumetrics. If it’s not working now, and your remote can operate the locks, then I think the volumetrics had a fault before the battery change, which you’ve only just noticed perhaps. Can you confirm volumetrics was working before?

I bought a car a month ago, and the remotes did not work. Initially I thought it was the batteries, especially the owner says that everything is ok. I changed batteries, but the alarm still does not activate the remote control. I told the key evidence behind closed doors (with the window down). When I opened the door bagand hand through the window, the alarm worked (while I was in car hand up to open the door, nothing happened so sensor = not felt the presence of hand, although it was normal to detect). Suggestions?

The volumetrics sensing can be switched off in your Freelanders computer. Not all countries use it. Do you know anyone where you are with a Freelander? It could be the sensor has failed. Difficult to know the fault.

OK! Please tell me if a Land Rover tester, you can see, disconnect the sensor volume. Another question, hypothetically speaking, if the sensor is disconnected, remote controls can operate without it?

I think Test Book which is Land Rovers test diagnostic software (also called T4) can read the value the sensor gives. You can cover the sensor and see the value change.

The remotes will still work if the volumetric sensor is broken or disconnected. Mine worked with the sensor missing.

You should be able to measure a voltage on the electrical connector connected to the volumetric sensor in the roof. If not then you could have a cable connection problem.
