does any one know which wire is the remote line on the back of the radio? i'm trying to fit a sound system, and yeah... i dont want to start till i know where everything goes. can any one help???? thanks

Blimey, even if we knew what radio it was it would be unlikely anyone knew the colour coding for that particular make. Do you know which is the switched power, unswitched power, earth.........any of them? You could probably do it by a process of elimination? The speaker cable breakout is usually fairly easy as they're generally colour coded in twos, one with a stripe & one without. After that there's usually only the four others to worry about. Any more details?

ok, i will give it a shot, i thought they used the same harness for the standard radio as the pioneer harness, or something :S
thanks for the help :)

Just a thought, have you tried the makers website? They might have a wiring diagram...........?

Hey, & please tell me you aren't using the remote line to power LEDs? Can't talk meself though, as the speaker boxes I got to put in the back of my III had little blue LEDs in them, I just had to wire them up! With a huge sense of irony I might add, makes me smile every time I put the CD/radio on!

Picture it, ancient old Series III trundling down the road with pumping choons & the back lit up by blue LED's...............Now, let's burn off some Novas!

I take it you're talking about the switching 12V feed for the radio? If it's a newish head unit it should be red, permanent 12V should be yellow and earth will be black. Speaker pairs are violet, green, white and grey. Orange is usually used to dim the display at night (fed from a lighting circuit) and blue is for a power aerial. All IIRC :)

HTH,

Scott.

Nice one chap. I didn't think these things followed any kind of standard, thought manufacturers were sneakier than that! Well, certainly my recent experience follows that. Top one!

Now, how about some flouro' tubes on yer underside?

thanks, its the blue one then, i need it to switch on a amp. i knew some one would know! lol, yeah thanks again

Ahhh, good point Webby. It'd look wicked getting there tho'!

Sad thing is I need a fairly good system to be able to hear it in me III at anything over 45!..........have to say tho', I tend to turn it down in traffic as I feel a bit stoopid amongst the other Bournemouth Chavs!

you could hide them next to some rock sliders or something, yeah, i dont want to look like a chav, but its quite a good system, pretty loud.

Tops chap, well, I'm glad you got some better wiring guidance than mine! Just because you drive a farmers motor (though a black 90 is bordering on the rural pimp! ;) ) it don't mean you gotta like the Wurzels!

Best,
Marcus.

yeah, i cant type/spell/do much, yeah i do love my strongbow, i'm not a farmer if thats what your thinking! lol

i met my mechanic when i was a diesel fitter... i was working at wonderbra and every time i found a batch of xxxxxl bras i'd say dees 'ill fit her
