relay RL-3

hi all, i have just changed the fuse board on my 4.6 and the old one had a relay in RL-3, the new one doesnt? will this cause any problems if it doesnt have on? it has a picture of a snowflake on the inside of the fuse cover thats the same as RL-13 & RL-18? any ideas?

Have you got the correct fuse board for your vehicle? There are many different types fitted to the P38

well, it came from a 4.6 of similar age? everything is exactly the same its even got the holes to take the relay but nothing there underneath?

Its not exactly the same then is it. Check the numbers on the board make sure they match. I think someone posted the part numbers on here not so long ago

Relay 3 is used to switch the air con compressor after i think MY 1999. You have the wrong fuse box.

On the electrical upgrade MY 1999 fuse box, a few fuse designations and ratings changed. So the earlier model box lid will show the wrong fuse ratings for some positions. Just compare fuse details in RAVE for 1997/1998 with fuse details for MY 1999 when relay 3 was added.
