Registered Vehicle Insurance Query

Hi All
I'm about to be the owner of 110 Utility XS and have a query re the registered vehicle status. I work for myself and as such own the Limited company - the company is buying the vehicle for VAT / Tax efficiency and I will be the only driver. I know the company will own the vehicle but does anyone know if it makes any difference who is the registered keeper?

Shouldn't any difference whatsoever, I'm a director of my own company, the company bought the van, meets all the running costs etc and therefore gets vat back etc, but I'm the registered keeper, logbook and insurance in my name not company.

There is a paragraph on V5 which states the registered keeper is not necessarily the legal owner.

v5 proves fook all just a name on a piece of paper, you have to put your name to this but when you try and use v5 as ownership you get told that is not proof of ownership. It's one of those dammed if you do dammed if you don't

But... Some insurers will increase the premium if your not the registered keeper, I had this when I bought a car off my dad, rather than increase the owners I tried to insure it while he was the registered keeper... It was going to cost +£200 more

Thanks for that guys - think I'll put my name as the registered keeper as, as pointed out it seems to affect some insurers!
