Red warning light ,96 Diccovery

Hi I'm new to the site.

Intermittantly a red light comes on, ( a red car) next to to pre-heater light. I have just changed the starter solenoid, could that be part of the problem. Thanks very much.

The red lamp (car and key) is the engine immobilisation indicator so the starter circuit would be involved, but I don't know about the solenoid its self.

In my owners hand book it states it's only fitted in some markets, this lamp dosen't function on my UK disco although the symbol is there in the dash, and also u have to press the unlock button on the fob to re-moblilised the engine, some thing we don't do it's automatic provided we place the fob close to the starter switch but then my disco is a 97 model, things may have change,

If u didn't have this problem before u replaced the solenoid, it could now be part of the problem.

Thanks for the info, I shall look into it. Living in Soain with a language problem it,s tough dealing with Auto electricians.
