"Alfie" our VM Rangie made a protest tonight, I think it's because I've used
the Disco for towing recently and the 101 for the last two trips to work.
Anyway the battery light is staying illuminated. Bear in mind its a VM
Diesel and not a petrol... heres the symptoms;
At rest batteries show 12 volts.
Engine started and Charge light remains on bright still 12 volts
Rev engine and light remains on but dim then leave to idle and light remains
on and dim , no noticable change in dim/brightness since revved up, check
voltage at idle... 13.5 volts.
Repeat above with headlights on and voltage at idle 12 volts.
I've sprayed copious ammounts of WD40 and tetensioned the belt prior to all
this.
Symptons have manifested whilst parked up for 3 or 4 days with the odd shunt
across the drive to bring the 101 out.
What do you think?
Oh...the rev counter seems fine.
I'm braced for a kick in the wallet.
