Hi there,
Wondered if anyone could give me any suggestions for a good book on vehicle
recovery techniques. Have seen a few out there but wanted some further
advice first...

Many thanks

Dog.

Some recoveries are impossible, like the situation I got myself into
yesterday.

I could not get out of the hedge I was stuck in because a substantial bush
had wedged itself underneath the front and was acting like a wheel chock. I
could not drive over it because I would have caused even more damage and
even if I had a high lift jack, I would not have been very safe trying to
cut the wood from underneath. As it was I cut off a substantial bough but
even when sawn off it would not move. The only solution was to lift the
front end off the ground to give enough clearance while I reversed back. How
many people take mobile cranes out with them. A winch would have been
useless in the event, which would still have to.
