Hi, I'm just in the process of purchasing a 300Tdi Discovery Commercial. I intend to do some greenlaning in it. What's the best way of installing recovery points? I have a towbar on the back which I can use so I'm mainly thinking of front recovery points. It's mainly my work vehicle so I'd only be doing gentle non damaging off roading so I don't want to go as far as a winch bumper. Are there any other mods that I need to think about apart from maybe tyres?

Jate rings are the easyest way of getting recovey points, the only problem is they are higher than the front skirt so if you need to use them you may end up riping it off, or just remove it.

JATE rings as above, cheap and strong. Hi Lift jacks are a useful addition for a green lane kit, you can use them to winch as well.

Hope this helps!

dont get a high lift unless you have proper jacking points otherwise it will be completely useless. jates, as above. a long tow strap, a short tow strap (3m best. its also the longest you can use whilst towing on the road i believe) and a hand full of 3T shackles. bow saws are great for branches or fallen trees. if you really get into it then waffle boards are a good addition along with a trifor hand winch.

go with other land rovers and buy a set of 2way radios too.

cant go far wrong.
