Freelander 1 Reconditioned VCU supplier in Rep Ireland / Bringing car parts in hold of plane?

Hi,
I know of Bell Eng in England, but since I am in Portugal getting one sent (~12 kg?) from UK is a no-no post-Brexit
I thought I'd just ask if anyone knew of someone good based in Rep Ireland?
Or even someone there who sells Bell units?

And what about taking something like that on the plane in checked in luggage (Ryanair) - would I get sent directly to Guantanamo Bay without passing Go?

Why does 12kg make a difference "post-Brexit"?

Are courier fees that much different?

I get landrover parts sent here from UK some companies do all the paperwork and you only pay 15€ plus courier others charge you freight and DHL clear it through customs but charge a lot...just dont use normal mail as it sits in Lisbon for months...

It doesnt make a difference - I wrote that 12kg in just to give an idea of what weight I am looking at - not clear on my part, sorry

What does make a difference is that things sent from UK to Portugal usually get put into customs (of course) and you then have to log into a platform after getting a letter from them and then provide various documents and of course pay import taxes (if you get the letter before their deadline - its happened to me)

Bell dont ship abroad they said unfortunately

I am going to see if I can bring one back on the plane

I do know someone here that does a refurb for €400 including fitting, but they are £185 at Bell

By the time you buy from Bell bring it here then fit it you have no come back if it goes wrong you have to send it back...pay the money here and you get a warranty...
