Not actually for my series, it is for a Fordson super major tractor I am restoring (thread), but there must be people on here that have had weeping fuel tanks in their series motors and repaired rather than replaced.

I have a very slight weep around one of the mounting bolt holes, this is a fairly common are for this to happen and is a stress fracture rather than a rust hole. the tank is in good solid conditions and is currently removed for repainting, and stripped back to bare metal anyway. On a quick google the two most common seem to be por15 and slosh. Both claim to be suitable for all modern ethanol based fuels, and I am aware that with both, as with anything, it is the prep work and cleaning that is the most important part important part of the process and that is the same with either. Does anyone have any experience with either product, or any recommendations for another brand?

Braze it if you can?
I don’t think that is as easy as it sounds. The bracket the bolt screws into is spot welded on and it is then under this bracket it is apparently common to get a stress fracture. It is not leaking enough to notice when fitted. But when I removed the bolt a couple of drops of what I assume was diesel came out with it. So it is more a precautionary fix while stripped rather than having an active leak.

If you are sure it’s leaking, you’ll have to unattach the bracket, repair the tank and then reattach bracket, now is the time to do it !
I am not 100% sure it is leaking. And if it is is very very minor. No obvious evidence on the tractor. Just a few drops when bolt was removed. It is as much preventative as I am refinishing the tank as anything else.

+1 for brazing, I've never found anything that sticks to to a petrol tank long term. Agree with brazing round the bracket. An option could be get it very clean and flow solder round it. The early bike tanks were soldered.

Fordsons run on diesel.
