I've got a 2000 Disco, and my rearview mirror compass reading is stuck on
"C." Any ideas what is causing this, and/or if there's anything I can do to
fix?

Many thanks.

I guess you are driving about rather than stationary. "C" is the
calibrate mode driving slowly <5mph in a circle a few times should
stop it but so should normal driving, just takes a little longer.

If that fails I'd try proding the switch through the little hole on
the underside. Switch the ignition to pos II (so the mirror is on)
then press and hold the switch with a pen or probe for >6 seconds to
display the C, then try the circle driving again.

If that works you ought to "set" the compass to the correct zone as it
defaults to zone 8. Most of the UK is in zone 10, the SE (Wash to
Portsmouth) zone 9 and the extreme NW of Scotland and the isles zone
11. Set the zone by pressing the same switch again for about 3 secs
and the zone number will display, then press/release the switch until
the right number appears. Leave it and the direction display should
reappear after 10s or so.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. As for the zones, are these published
anywhere? I live in Seattle, Washington, USA. Any idea what zone I'd be?

Sorry, I keep forgetting this is not a uk.* group, I should have
spotted your From:. The rain and howling gale has stopped so I've
nipped out to get the book, unfortunately it doesn't give the zones
for the Americas at all, everywhere else mind. Same for my RAVE disc.
