hi all

yet another question ,my rear wipe is dog poo , it only wipes half the window as soon as it gets to the 12 oclock postion it goes back down to the park postion :confused::confused:

i assume the motor /spinndle may need some TLC

is there a guide some where how to fix this ?

is this a common freelander fault ?

cheers
griff

to remove the wiper motor

do i need to take the spare wheel off or are all the bolts to remove it in the door under the door cover ?

Both mate, spare wheel off to remove the wiper arm and tailgate door card off to get to the motor.

Try to get OEM as cheaper replacements don't always sit properly.

Lowering the window fully may allow changing without removing spare tyre.

right started it today , its tight behinfd the spare wheel but lucky for me my hands are not that big :)

(well need to get all these leaves out too
carefully peeled the cover off ,it has a sticky glue stuff on the back ,tested it and it will reseel like new :)

next the motor ,it came out nice and easy ,even the spindle nuts came off quite easy :)
looks in good condition ,no nasty rust or anything

cant get back off as rivited on :-( got some wd40 around spindle seal ,let it soak throw ,
reconnected the power and all seems to be moving spot on now :)
then i noticed this

as you can see theres metal shavings on it from somewhere ,no idea where from but now all working ,so all back together now, going to get a new arm as this one is looking old and tired

Mines fooked the same, i think im gonna do a preemptive strike on the rear window and door latch gubbins at the same time. ;)
