Rear Window Lift

I have the Freelander V6 Sports, just recently the interior light stays on plus the door open indicator with all doors 100% closed.

And on occasions the rear door window does not rise when the door is closed.

And some times when you lower the rear door window it will not close.

I went to buy a manual from Halfords but I have been informed they have not yet released one for the V6.

I am guessing a relay possiblely as the whole thing is mis-functioning from different operations.

Any advise would be gratefully received.

I was having trouble with my rear window and interior light not operating correctly. I removed the rear door trim to find that it had recently had a new window mechanism fitted but whoever fitted it hadn't secured the wiring loom correctly and the mechanism had worn through the wiring and torn some completely in half. I repaired & resecured and all was good. Got to be worth a check eh?

The easiest way to check is to take the door card off, or in this case, the panel and then look for a tear in the plastic waterproofing cover. (It's clear and looks similar to cellophane) If the window mechanism has been changed, then there's most likely a tear in this cover.

I have been told that the problem is the micro switch but they are having a job to obtain the part. Is there any where reliable that I can order one online from?

That's for a complete unit, might be worth giving them a bell to see if they have just the switch (I don't know if it's available seperately, but knowing Landrover it wont be...)

Had a bit of luck today at my local garage, the MOT lad recommended a chap who specialises in auto-electrics, was happy to say he had his car sorted by him, so I will give it a spin.
