I've just put some freestyles on and have a problem with the rear carrier. The tyre is tight up against the door and wilnot allow the rear wiper to move. I know a swing away would be the answer but with another bambino on the way funds do not permit such a luxury, so are there any alternatives people? Ta muchly Brad:confused:

do you have a 265 tyre on the rim? the 265 barely clears the wipers if it's an original land rover wiper. if you have a non original wiper assembly, it's pushes the wiper arm further towards the tyre, so it will not clear.

on 235 tyres they are fine, orignal or non original wipers. buy the land rover 13" ones and try.

i found it out the hard way after throwing mine away. so now i just stick to changing the rubber blades.

cant you just space out the carrier with some stuff the same thickness as that requires to offset the tyre? or am i missing something.

wont be any good offroad though and this would cause extra leverage and rip it outta your door.

Got any spare wheel nuts? If you have... stick a wheel nut on each of the carrer studs, then put the wheel on then bolt the wheel on. Instant 25mm spacer for your spare ;)

would it fit on the otherway round? like if the deep part of the rim wur towards the door turn the fooker so the deep part is outer most.

Turning it round should work - bjut depending on the offset of the wheel might also feck up his rear door. I'd space the wheel out a bit - can't be more than a few mm's out - try to keep the bulk of the mass of the wheel as close to the door as possible ;)

'eez got the option of a paper bag too... eye 'oles optional... or if 'eez feeling exceptionally kind ter the rest of us, 'ee culd use a carrier bag :D

Tried that Adz not enough meat on the thread. I had mach 5's on but because I bought them from those ****ers at scorpion racing the powder coating has been coming off and not giving a good seal on the rim and the tyre goes down. I've had these freestyles kicking around the workshop so stuck them on. I don't think they will be on for long as the off set is not as good and I had to adjust the steering stops because the tyres were munching into the radius arms.
