hi,i have just about confirmed that the humming noise that is coming from the rear end of my 2001 disco td5 is a bearing can i delay the obvious by greasing something cheers arv

my advise is change it asap mate grease will only delay the problem and what happens if the bearing brakes up and causes the wheel to lock up on the motorway?

that is a worse case senario but i have seen bearings brake up and cause a wheel to lock up.

plus packing it with grease wont stop the hum now as the bearings are worn.

cheers baz

i would change it as soon as, when i bought ma 110 i was drivin it home up the m6, when my bearin went, ended up meltin everythin inside the axle, got recovered to penrith to the only garage that was open n it cost me 1500, i had only owned the landy a couple o hours :frusty:

thanks martin ,if women cost this much to care for you would consider a swap . thanks again arv
