Rear wheel arch rust under rear doors.......

Hello, I have managed to get the disco through the last few MOT's because I have patched up the rust and painted over it but I need to do some repairs for the next one in March 2009.

As you can see I have a problem and it's the same both sides!

Is there anything I can buy and get welded that is already to the shape I require as with door seals on some older cars I have owned years ago.

Mine are startin to go the same way as far as i know you can buy replacment wheelarches, as for fitting them im not sure what prep needs to be done i have read that you need to remove the rear quarter panel. Im sure these guys on here will tell you how its done.

Now then, you say "get welded", so I assume that you haven't done any welding? You could look upon it as an ideal opportunity to try your hand at it. It'll save you a small fortune over time

Personally I'd make a patch out of a bit of steel sheet and weld it over the hole. (Assuming there's good metal to weld to a couple of inches from the hole). Replacing the wheel arches would be neater but it's a lot more work.
