Rear view camera

] ]I want to fit a rear view cam to my 2011 sd4 hse, there are 2 aerial type sockets on the back of the sat nav unit, can either be used for the cam..don't know if it helps but this No is on the sat nav

Don't know if it helps, but when I fitted a camera it used rca type jacks, and there should be a low power feed from the camera to trigger the screen to switch to the camera input when reverse gear is selected. Your sat nav will have to be made to accept this feed

Thanks for that,,havnt got the camera yet,just trying to get info before I do,,,can't understand why L/ R can't say what will fit and what won't ,the 2012 model has the cam fitted,I would have thought it would have been an option on mine,but dealers don't seem to know,,( or more likely don't give a s**t)

They look more like GPS aerial sockets to me. As Jimwyllie said, cameras usually use rca (red/white) type connectors.

The rear camera on 2.1 is a CVBS signal which is input to the touchscreen on a coax with a violet terminal

Thanks Owl,,not sure what to do now,,,cam I've got is just a cheapo eBay to try,,it has rca connection, I could fit a co- ax instead but don't wanna blow the touch screen, perhaps better left alone
