THe rear towing eyes on a landrover 90 - the question is are they strong enough to be able to recover me from say being stuck or something?

I have jate rings but didnt know i could put them through the rear of my landy??
Basicly i want to get out green laning and just am about to spend getting last bits sorted to get out. BUt i need a drop plate and dont want to pay out for it at the moment. So wondered if the towing eyes would be strong enough to get me out if stuck. I wasnt sure due to strength. - but if you know a way of fitting jate rings to the rear thats ace!

Now while you here - i have a steering guard but with no recovery and had to remove jate rings meaning no front recovery! Whats your best idea for a cheap front recovery eye??

Just put jate rings in the front, the same as the pic but in the front.

Hello george - no its not that simple its using the jate ring holes when fitting the steering guard (am searching at the moment - and thinking ideas at the mo around it)
The way it mounts is through the jate ring wholes and uses spacers so thinking maybe should try making my own but smaller spacer?

Well weld some 10mm plate to the guard with a hole in it :doh:

just went and had another look - basicly it goes through and could construct something that may allow me to have jaterings on the front BUT if i was to recovery it would press against the steering guard so thinking would it bend it

Well it is the Tube type of guard defender/stearing guard | eBay
so would it be strong enough just recovering from the top tube? as its connected to the Jatering part

Ive seen the D Rings Bear - they seem good - just thought if it was possible to use the guard i have or adapt the jate rings.

im watching them d rings also gonnahave a look reference the jate rings on the front if i can come up with an idea im just thinking that if i were to put jate rings on and get a recovery i think it would bend the steeringuard. maybe d rings are the way forward
