Hi All.
I sometimes get a clicking sound from the rear offside and by inserting a bar discovered it is the Rear Sub Frame Bolt that"s making the clicking sound. I have tried tightening it but it feels absolutely solid so it looks like I am going to have to Weld it. My question is: I only have an Arc Welder, will I be able to use this or do I need it Mig Welded?
If it is OK to use my Arc Welder, do I need to disconnect the Battery and Alternator?
I have read the LR Tech Bulletin number 0112 and they say to "Puddle Weld" through both the holes, is this the best way to do it?
Any help or advice welcomed.
Cheers

As mad hat man said you need to take battery of ,I did this job on my old one a 2001 td4 as some one before me had not tightend the bolts up properly i droped the subframe well away so i could see what i was doing, i then welded down the tube where the nut is , and then from the out side , and then ground it down and when you put the sub frame back on , you need to torque the bolts up to 140 lbs or 190 Nm or it will just happen again, you can get a repair kit which involves cutting a bit of the chassie out and welding a piece with a new nut back in. hope this helps
