Hi all, looking for a bit of advice. I have oil leaking into the rear brake hub, contaminating rear brake shoes. I have disassembled the hub to find the rear grease seal that stops the oil coming from the axle through to the hub is in ok condition and on further inspection where it sits and seals to the axle there is scoring on the metal. Can you replace the bronze bush that the grease seal seals against? Or do you have to change the stub axle?
I have also cleared the breather due to this being blocked but I don't want to put it back together without a new seal and testing to the bottom of whether I need to replace the stub axle or whether i can replace the part with a new bush?
Please let me know if I can replace the part the seal sits on or whether the full stub axle has to be changed?
Thanks
Mark
