Rear screen washer not working....

Have checked the fuse, and also the switch. Pressing the button activates the wiper as it should, but there is no sound from the pump.

Is the rear wash an MOT requirement?

and how do I get to the pump, Haynes book of lies says remove the bumper, is there not an easier way???? I also have the soft A frame fitted, not sure if this comes off with the bumper or must be removed separately?

I have the same issue (pump not firing) but haven't yet been asked to take the bumper off for it.

I'd highly doubt it's an MOT requirement seeing as you can black the windows, not to mention commercial vehicles can have them panelled up.
