Rear Quarter chassis

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has had their rear quarter chassis replaced by a garage? if so what costs should I be expecting? I've asked for a few quotes from various garages. Sadly a friend of mine can weld and does a good job but hes worried a chassis may be a step too far so looks like I may have to go down the garage route .

Big job for a garage, wouldn't expect much change out of £600 and maybe more.

Perhaps @Co-Pang-Yang could advise? I think he's your neck of the woods.

Presuming thats just for labour?
At least £300 for the quarter chassis probably more

Yes, sorry I should have been clearer, that's an estimate for LABOUR ONLY, I wouldn't dare try to price the parts as you could end up with a designa chassis rear quarter @ circa £600 on it's own.

I did my own on the 110 and it was surprisingly easy.
Messy job but not difficult and very rewarding when complete.
Loads of waxoyl afterwards, inside and out.

I did the rear quarter on a D2, easily done in a day, but once you start cutting the old chassis off be prepared to extend the repaired area as the spring mounts and the metal around them tends to be rotten as well

As @johnlad said, I would check the shock and spring mount area carefully , they get wholly there and stay hidden until you poke them . No point getting a chassis that is too short to do the job properly , and leaves a rusty section in place.

Yep. Just look at this. Top rails and spring mounts virtually dust on my old chassis removed last year. You can't really see the top chassis rails to see how bad they are.
