Rear Propshaft removal on Landrover 90

Hi guys just joined today as I could do with some help. Have just removed the rear propshaft on my Landrover 90. Would I be right in thinking that I should still be able to drive it as a 2 wheel drive ? Reason for asking is that having tried to drive it, it feels like it is being held back (bit like when the hand brake sticks on) and wasn't sure if I was doing something daft. Appreciatre any help you can offer.

are yu saying that yu have removed the rear prop and it still drives without difflock being engaged?

Is there anything holding the handbrake drum on?
