hiya guys,

Hope all is well and you guys are looking forward to the playing in the snow.

i was was wondering does anyone know where i may be able to get a template or accurate measurements for a 3 door rear parcel shelf please.

As im going to make one out of some spare marine ply that ive got and cover it with black carpet and cut some speakers in.

Had a look at ebay etc and they all seem around £100 to buy

hope this isnt cheeky in me asking but was wondering if anyone may be around the swanley, kent area if i would be allowed to take a template of one please or if someone owns a rigid rear parcel shelf to take a template for me and send me the template im more than happy to pay for any expenses etc, postage etc.

just hope this email doesnt come across as being cheeky

thanks as always and hope that someone out there may be so kind to help me please

all the best

why don't you get a big piece of cardboard and make it yourself?
it will probablly be faster/cheaper then having one mailed to you.

Think I might have a go at this myself. The load cover shelves on ebay are either collection only from "op Norff" or a bloody fortune. I reckon that by using a board thickness of 8/9mm it should fit under the handles that lock down the hardtop, which will keep it in place.

hiya

thanks guys as always for the advice and help

im going to use some 12mm mdf , as im going to mount some speakers concerned if i use anything thinner might bow, ive bought a router so hopefully i should be able to round the edges off and put some pins in the side .

trying to find some pictures online to see if how its fitted as i not sure if the edges run at a 45 degree angle to sit correctly against the panels.

ive found the mounting kits online for around £30.00 and just spray them in black to match my interior.

hopefully wont look to bad but simply cannot justify over £100 for a new one.

has anyone else made one yet.

would it be possible if anyone would be so kind to post some pictures please of the different angles etc so i can then get a good idea of how its mounted and rests against the panels please

thanks so much guys

thanks,

had a look at the fitting guide but have been trying to find pictures of what it looks like underneath when the parcel shelf is in place.

as im going to make one just trying to get as much information as i can so that it will fit snugly against the side panels and not bounce when going along.

ive noticed the cord ties to hold it down and dont want it to scrape or mark the side panels

also been thinking about using hydralic boot rods that fit on old hatch backs that are around £10 for a pair.

i really do appreciate any help with this, i know it will take me a few months to try and make it and wont look like the factory made one, but hopefully will see if i can get it looking as nice as possible.

of course once done will be more than happy to share pics etc.
