Sport Rear Near Side Disc getting HOT ?

H I Guys

Just wondered if there is a common fault / problem with t RRS rear callipers ? my NSR appears to be sticking on (the disc is getting very hot) I have fitted new discs and pads and the piston went back easy enough using my spreader tool and I pumped I out a couple of times and pushed it back using the spreader and it seemed ok. I have fitted new pins and rubber gaiters to the sliding section an I moved freely for sure ! Yet still the one disc is getting hot ???

Any suggestions please, BTW its a 2008 TDV8 RRS

Does your model have an electric hand brake as they are trouble? do the pads move freely?

Sounds as if the piston/caliper carrier is not returning fully and still pushing the pads onto the disc. Sometimes better to replace with a new caliper.

Yes it does have the electric handbrake but this seems to be working OK as if I apply then I cannot turn the wheel when jacked up and in Neutral but then let it off and I can turn the wheel ! It seems really strange as there is a slight slope out of my garage and in Neutral is will roll out no bother and pull it in again and it will roll out all on its own ? But after i take it for a run the rear near side disc is REALLY hot (not glowing but very hot) so its as though the brake is coming on slightly as the car is driven ?? I'm really confused as the caliber piston and the sliding section seem really free maybe slightly better then the offside ( judging on how easy it is to wind the piston back using the spreader but very little in it) and this offside disc is NOT getting anywhere near as hot ?
Is there a pressure regulator or something that could be sticking and holding the fluid in back to that caliper when driving ? But then again why not when in the garage ? I have had the wife apply the foot brake and again I cannot turn the wheel and release and I can which for me says all is fine but the very hot disc says its not ??

Thanks for that suggestion it could just be that as everything else seems fine !

If it were me i'd take it to a specialist to see if its being delayed,

Best way to find out if its a slow/sticky caliper is to measure the pad depth and disc if you can,

The discs are brand new and the pads are also, however the removed disc was more depleted than the offside one and the pads were also more work hence pointing to the brake having been binding for a while ! (but with the 3.6 ltr V8 its hard to tell !)

New caliper is the only fix, other suggestions will likley on cure for a short while, 3rd party parts are ok, genuine best for obvious reasons, but no harm that I can think of using non genuine caliper

Thanks everyone, new caliper on order (although I still cannot see the problem with the one fitted) we will see if that cures it ???
