rear door wont unlock

Hi guys my freelander rear door wont unlock electronically but it will lock..

If i press the unlock the rod stay stuck down but I am able to open the door from the inside which makes the rod then pop up and the door will open and lock as normal util it comes to unlocking it again

I've had the door card off and tried tried to get the mechanism out but couldn't work out how to remove the metal rod so I could get the mechanism out so I put it back together

You need a new lock mechanism. It's a common occurrence for them to fail this way.

Ah right got one on order from eBay.

How do I remove the metal rods from behind so I can remove the unit? I got the 3 torx bolts out but couldn't remove the unit because the metal rods were in the way but I couldn't feel any bolts or anythings holding them on.

There are plastic clips they hook into... Difficult to describe and even more difficult to photo in situ.... If you look on the ebay listings you can see a green clip. That is what the rods clip into..

was looking for something else and one question answered on here, my rear left door locks but don't unlock lol, was going to look for an answer but original plan of just replacing lock is the answer lol
