Hiya all....
Anybody had the same problem as I've encountered today where by the rear door stays stuck shut? I have a 92 discovery 5 door. When I went to open it today it wouldn't open !!! The door latch appears to opening but just not far enough. Had the door card off & everything looks ok - spring still attached. Internal door latch still operates but again still not enough to clear the spigot & allow the door to open.
I tried some WD, tried flicking the cams to get some more travel & somebody holding the latch open on the outside whilst I give a bloody good clout with a lump hammer from the inside....bit rough I no but I just want the F in door to open !!!!
Any idea's before I get medieval with a grinder !!!

Hi,sounds like you should check the door hinges as the doors can drop over time . Have a look you maybe able to adjust them enough to lift the door up to clear the catch and open. hope this helps .;).try leavering door gently up to free the catch first if you can .

The key barrel on mine had seized, stopping the mechanism operating correctly. Try disconnecting the linkage from the barrel, might free everything up. I disconnected mine, and as it's got central locking, don't need to use the barrel, so left it off.

Cheers for the replies fella's.....
Will have ago at disconnecting barrel ( don't use it either). Woodsman, will have a look at the hinges when I finally get the door open.

Pop the land rover badge off the back, you can get a better look at the mech that way. Had the same problem but my handle was stuck aswel

If you got the door card off there's 2 arms on rhs of lock assembly give the front one a yank with some pliers that's how I finally got mine open..
