Hi,
A previous owner of my Landy 90 thought it'd be a great idea to investigate why the rear door lock wasn't working properly - so they drilled off all the rivets, managed to lose half the contents, and then bodged it back onto the door - presumably in the hope that nobody would notice. Well I noticed - when I undid the nuts and bolts holding it to the door and the whole thing fell to pieces on my drive. I managed to re-assemble it so that at least it holds the door shut, but it was clear I needed a new lock.
So I bought one off ebay - it looks like this:
No problems fitting it - but then I tried to close the door. The piece of metal that the lock latches onto is completely the wrong shape. Presumably there have been revisions to the rear door lock over the years, even though the mounting on the door is exactly the same.
So I need to know what the piece that attaches to the door frame where the lock meets the car looks like. And then I'll have to see if I can find one!
Anyone got any pointers?
Thanks in advance,
Ian.
