Hello everybody.
I have a four pin diff that i want to build into the center of my rear diff. But i want to use new bearings i know how to fit/set the side bearings. But i am usure about the pinoin bearings as my freind at work told me their is shrims inside and its hard to set them. I have read a thread on here and their is no mention of setting the pinion bearings with new/ different size shrims, so is it a case of remove old bearings replace with new ones reasemble the same way i diasembled? with the same shims i took out? Dan.

Disco 2 by the Way if it makes any difference.

To be right the height of the pinion should be checked , but the ones i've done always seem to be ok, just remember to check the contact patch of the crownwheel/pinion using engineers blue.

its not easy to discribe how to do it but mesuring is very important and you realy need a manual and if you look on top of the pinion there shoud be some numbers with a + or a - there is a set mesurement you mesure down from the "side bearings" juranals to the top of the pinion + or - the mesurement adjusted buy shims then you need to set the preload that to is set by shims then you need to set the croun wheel and as said you realy need some engineers blue
where are you some one local may help with a manual

But if i was to just change the side bearings in the diff all i would need to do is set with marking blue? and the pinion would be ok?
