Rear damper top bushes

Mine are, erm, bushed. Obviously l can get new ones, but some people say they are next to impossible to fit.
I have the Terrafirma adjustable dampers so can’t just fit new units.
The top mount uses the same bushes as the LR one.
Some say cut the new bushes in half and fit them like that.
Plus you can buy poly bushes that come in two halves anyway. Are the two half ones OK as a replacement? Obviously these would just push straight in and be held in place by the nut/large washer.
But in that case why does the LR one come as a one piece?

Loads of people have polybushed there and next time they’ll be easier too. Lr ones are sealed and a different make up but you need a press to fit a lot of the oe bushes.

I have used "Polybush" bushes for about the last 20 years with no problems, they probably dont last as long as the genuine Metalastic type bushes but once you have them replacement is a doddle. I can't remember what the original type bushes are like on the damper top mounts, I think they are one piece rubber, one thing you could try is to use a jubilee clip to squash/reduce the dia of the bush and push it into the top of the damper, as it goes in the clip will move to the center of the bush and you can take it off. If that makes any sense?
Personally I wouldn't use Britpart bushes, but that's my choice.

Good idea re the jubilee clip, l never thought of that.
I don’t have a vice so would have to use a g-clamp to press it in. I will give it a try.

I did my 90 a couple of months ago and went with the 2 part poly bushes, easy job.

Well, all l could get quickly was the Land Rover OE bushes. I don’t have a vice, but l realised l have a two ton press right there on the drive.
Both bushes went straight in, with a spray of WD-40.
It’s important to apply a little pressure first, and then make sure the edge of the rubber bush has started to go in all the way round. A little help from a screwdriver was needed to do this. Then l cranked the jack up, and the rear wheel was almost off the ground before the bush suddenly went in to the shock.
