Rear bed removal

Anyone got any tips on getting the rear bed out of a 90 so that I can get to the chassis from above?
Is it as simple as drilling the numerous rivets and lifting it out leaving the wheel boxes in place?
Is it structural and supports the body?
Anyone done it and can confirm the above before I start?

There's nothing in the Rave on this one, guess you'll have to drill out all them rivets. Have you got some corrosion or do you want to fit a glass bottom for when your wading...

I want to have a look at the chassis to check for corrosion and whilst I'm at it I'm going to change/fix my fuel sender as well as change the top link bushes.
My old series IIA had a removable rear floor and it was invaluable for all sorts of jobs.
The tank mounts have rusted solid and I cant shift them so I want to get a good look at the rear Xmember etc.
I guess I'm going to have to suck it and see.

let us know how it goes as am planning to take mine off sometime soon too for a spot ow welding.

Haynes restoration says something along the lines of 'its easy - just undo all the fittings'!
