Doing the oil seal on the rear diff on my 2000 TD5 defender while the gearbox is out. All info i can find says there should be banjo for the breather. Mine doesn't have one, just has a red seal and a pipe sticking straight out the axel, is this normal and does it just pull out? Gave it a tug and it didn't come out easily and don't want to break it....

Cheers

A lot of the old-style banjo connecticted breathers have been chnged over for the push-fit type.

To remove the pipe all I needed to do was to slide a 6mm spanner against the red bit collet and the pipe came out.

Hope this helps.
